Books are flying off the shelves and making their way to happy kids in North Texas

Book Drive for Kids (BDFK) partnered with local apartment communities in April and May in order to give more books for children in need.

In April, giveaway parties were held at Ashleye Village Apartments in Lake Dallas, Brighton Apartments in Lewisville and Tower Ridge Apartments in Corinth.

In May, giveaway parties were also held at Basswood Manor Apartments, Fox Hollow Apartments and Oak Tree Village communities in Lewisville. At all of these locations, children received free books to take home, a giveaway treat, and had some fun.

Book collections were held at Capital One Bank in Frisco the weeks of April 1 – 15. The students at Shadow Ridge Middle School, in conjunction with members of the Parents and Teachers Association in Flower Mound, completed their book collection in April. Through the school’s reading classes, students collected 3,882 books. These books will be used for the BDFK summer giveaway programs.
